The Centre for Educational Research and Innovation CERI at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD is a part of the Directorate for Education and Skills. Its primary mission is to support member countries in striving towards high-quality lifelong learning that contributes significantly to personal development, sustnable economic growth, and social cohesion.

CERI’s role is multifaceted:

  1. Scenario Building: It helps stakeholders anticipate potential future scenarios by analyzing trs shaping education systems worldwide.

  2. Indicators of Education Systems INES: The INES programme measures the performance of national education systems through internationally comparable data, providing insights into system strengths and areas for improvement.

  3. Survey on Social and Emotional Skills: This survey identifies and assesses conditions that promote or hinder the development of social and emotional skills among students aged 10 to 15 years old.

CERI is dedicated to conducting research and generating evidence-based policies across several domns:
